Selecting an Outdoor Lighting Company: Quality of Equipment
By Tom DeMuth
Your investment in an exterior lighting system should only be made once. The following is a tip that will help you make an informed decision when selecting an exterior lighting company.
QUALITY OF EQUIPMENT. The lighting fixtures you select for your property should be constructed of durable, high quality material such as cast aluminum, brass, or copper. The environment in which you live will help determine the most appropriate fixture for your property. If you live in a harsh coastal environment, fixtures comprised of copper, brass, or fiberglass will outlast other fixture types. Plastic fixtures typically offered by home improvement stores should be avoided as they are not very sturdy and can easily be damaged by lawn equipment. Properly maintained fixtures should last for decades; it isn’t unusual for systems we installed over 30 years ago to have the original fixtures still operating.
